(Seattle, WA) It’s Ham-azing! It’s Oink-tastic! It’s Porktacular!, a new sketch comedy show with vaudevillian flair from the Pork Filled Players, Seattle’s Asian American sketch comedy institution, playing at the Ballard Underground (2220 Market Ave. NW, Seattle), July 13 to 28, Friday and Saturdays at 8 pm.
Porktacular! is a whiz-bang variety show of original new sketch comedy, with special guest stars Assaulted Fish (perennial favorite from Vancouver, BC), sketch comedy duo Charles (“Best Writing” and “Best Sketch Comedy” of the 2012 LA Comedy Festival) and Drop the Root Beer and Run (recently featured at Improlympia and the LA Improv Fest).
The Pork Filled Players are led by Head Hawg Roger Tang and lead writer Maggie Lee, and includes Matt de la Cruz, Narea Kang, May Nguyen and Kerstin Porter. PFP is not just the longest-running Asian American theatre group in Seattle, but also features a unique brand of cheeky geek wit, stage combat, and a rare majority of female comedy writers and performers.
