These artists take on identity issues (and Asian identity in particular) by creating narratives that often are born from loosely autobiographical, conflicting situations. Hung Liu is one of the most beloved artists represented in SJMA’s collection. Liu is known primarily for her paintings, which are drawn from Chinese historical photography. She has recently been working on a three-screen video installation based on digital snapshots that she takes with her iPhone. LYF Camp is a 5 day 4 night summer youth leadership camp held every June in the San Francisco Bay Area for Taiwanese American youth in grades 4 through 12.
